College: Foti went to Marquette to play indoor volleyball but was not eligible to play her first semester as she had graduated high school early. The following season she suffered an injury during preseason and did not compete and redshirted. In her first year of competition she switched from setter to right side hitter and was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team after hitting .306 with 254 kills, 40 blocks and 30 aces. The following season she had 167 kills, 47 blocks and 31 aces. As a junior Foti had 21 double-doubles, tying for the sixth most in a single season in Marquette history. She concluded her three-year indoor career with 659 kills, 637 digs, 127 blocks and 97 aces. Foti then transferred to Pepperdine to play one season of beach volleyball. She played with Emma Eden on court three, compiling a 24-9 record.

Personal: Foti comes from a volleyball family as her mother, Brenda, played volleyball at North Dakota State, where her father, Tom, played basketball. Her oldest sister Samantha played volleyball at Xavier. In addition to lettering in basketball for two seasons in high school, Foti also was a three-time captain of her volleyball team. She was Honorable Mention all-state as a freshman and First Team all-state in each of her last two seasons. She graduated high school early and enrolled at Marquette.
